Privacy Policy
How Savur handles personal information across our website, platform, Savvi, and related services.
Effective September 13, 2026
Savur, Inc. ("Savur," "we," "us," or "our") provides software infrastructure for food recovery, diversion, nonprofit coordination, community access, sponsorship, logistics coordination, and related reporting. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit thesavur.com, request information, use Savur or Savvi, participate in Sponsor Impact, or interact with related services that link to this policy.
1. Scope and our role
Depending on the service, Savur may act as a business or controller deciding why and how certain personal information is processed, or as a service provider or processor acting on behalf of a business donor, nonprofit, sponsor, upcycle partner, or other customer. Where we process information solely on behalf of a customer, that customer's privacy terms and instructions may also apply.
2. Information we may collect
- Contact and account information — name, business email, phone number, organization, title, username, authentication information, and account preferences.
- Organization and role information — employer or partner organization, locations, permissions, partner status, nonprofit verification details, and authorized-user information.
- Recovery and diversion records — food categories, quantities, weights, dates, locations, receiving or destination information, status events, proof records, acknowledgments, and related operational metadata.
- Logistics information — pickup and delivery addresses, contact details, task status, provider references, proof-of-service information, and related coordination records.
- Savvi household information — adult member contact details, household size, service-area ZIP code, delivery address when delivery is requested, request and fulfillment information, and proof information needed to complete service.
- Sponsor Impact information — sponsor contacts, selected program or nonprofit, funding and payment status, reporting preferences, and impact-reporting records. Sponsors do not receive household-level personal information through Sponsor Impact reporting.
- Payment and billing information — billing contacts, invoices, transaction references, payment method status, and limited payment metadata. Payment card or bank credentials may be processed by third-party payment providers rather than stored directly by Savur.
- Communications and support — messages, feedback, demo requests, support requests, and other communications with us.
- Website and device information — IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps, cookie or similar identifiers, and security logs.
3. Information we do not ask you to submit
Savur is not designed for the submission of protected health information (PHI), Social Security numbers, government-issued identity numbers, or other information that is not necessary to use the service. Do not submit PHI or similar regulated information unless Savur has expressly agreed in writing to support that data for the applicable service.
4. How we use information
We may use personal information to provide and secure the service; create and administer accounts; coordinate recovery, diversion, logistics, fulfillment, and sponsorship activity; verify partner eligibility; generate records and reports; respond to requests; provide customer support; improve product performance and accessibility; prevent fraud or misuse; comply with law; and protect Savur, our customers, partners, and users.
5. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to the organizations and users involved in the applicable workflow, subject to role-based permissions; to logistics, hosting, authentication, analytics, communications, payment, security, professional-advisor, and other service providers; in connection with a corporate transaction; or when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
We do not sell personal information. We do not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by certain U.S. state privacy laws. If those practices change, we will update this policy and provide any legally required choice mechanism.
6. Savvi privacy and household information
Savvi is designed for adult household members accessing food support through approved nonprofit partners. Household information is used to administer requests, pickups or deliveries, prevent duplication or misuse, document fulfillment, and support aggregate impact reporting. Delivery information and delivery proof are limited to the household, authorized nonprofit personnel serving that household, Savur administrators with a legitimate operational need, and service providers necessary to complete the delivery.
7. Children
Savur and Savvi accounts are intended for adults. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts or knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Adults may provide household-size information that includes minors without creating accounts for those minors.
8. Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, security, preferences, and analytics. Where required by law, we will request consent before using non-essential technologies. Browser controls may allow you to limit certain cookies.
9. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the service, maintain operational and audit records, satisfy contractual requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by record type and customer requirements.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No security program can guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.
11. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live and whether an applicable law covers the processing, you may have rights to confirm whether we process your personal information; access it; correct inaccuracies; delete certain information; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of certain sales, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling. Texas residents may also have a right to appeal certain privacy-request decisions.
To submit a privacy request, email info@thesavur.com with the subject Privacy Request. To appeal a denied request, use the subject Privacy Appeal. We may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
12. California disclosures
If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to our processing, California residents may have rights to know/access, correct, delete, and opt out of covered sale or sharing, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable. Savur does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
13. International users
If you access Savur from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, Savur or the applicable customer will use appropriate transfer mechanisms and provide rights required by applicable law.
14. Third-party services and links
The service may connect to or link to third-party providers, including logistics, payments, authentication, scheduling, analytics, and other services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, not this policy, except to the extent Savur contractually controls their processing on our behalf.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required.
